Learn and Perform in QUEER STORIES

We are currently seeking individuals ages 14-80+ who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA community. This exciting program, called QUEER STORIES, is completely FREE and aims to provide a unique opportunity for individuals to share their personal stories based on their lived experiences as part of the queer community in the DMV area. Participants will join a diverse group of individuals to delve into the intersection of queer experiences across generations. Our goal is to create an original theatre production that will debut at the Undercroft Theatre at the Theatre Lab in July.

We welcome people of all gender identities and sexualities to participate in this program, as we will weave together each participant’s individual experiences to create a collective and original performance. Theatre Lab Life Stories instructors will guide and work closely with the students throughout the 11-week program to craft a powerful and engaging production that amplifies the unique voices of each individual.

This class is recommended for people interested in exploring artistic self-expression. This is a fun and lively process; open to seasoned performers as well as those who have no previous acting experience. Please note that participants are expected to commit to the entire 11-week program. Classes will be held at the Theatre Lab in downtown DC on Wednesday (6-9 PM) starting Wednesday, May 15.
