2023 Youth Programs - The Theatre Lab

2023 Youth Programs

Taught by some of Washington’s best-known theatre professionals and educators, our camps and classes emphasize the benefits of drama training both onstage and off—from increased self-confidence and communication and teamwork skills, to a desire to stay active in mind and body.

School-Year Classes for Kids in Grades 1-8

We believe that young artists, whether new to the craft or brimming with experience, deserve a place where they can be challenged. A place where they can develop superior theatre skills while learning to take artistic risks, explore new creative paths, and have fun doing it! Our programs meet students wherever they are and give them the tools to take their artistry to the next level. More than a third of all participants in our youth programs receive full or substantial scholarships.

I love that the staff are so encouraging, supportive and knowledgeable about dramatic arts! It really has made a difference in both of my children’s confidence.

Spring Break Camp for Grades 1-6 (April 17-April 21)

Spring Break Camp at The Theatre Lab is a great way for students to hone their creativity and imagination when school is out. Students will explore their actors’ tools–the body, voice, and imagination–in this fun and fast-paced program.  Students will work together as an ensemble to create characters, scenes and stories and find creative and new ways to express themselves. This program is great for students who are beginners as well as students who call the stage home. Students will also have time to work on art projects, play games, and spend time outdoors (weather permitting).

Regular Day program takes place from 9 AM-3 PM
Early-Drop off is available at 8:30 AM
AfterCare is available from 3 PM-5 PM

Summer Camp Programs for Youth & Teens

At The Theatre Lab, our summer camp programs are divided into groups based on the grade that the student is entering in the Fall of 2023. We place all children with their peers based on grade regardless of theatre experience.  Camp is a very social experience and we want to make sure they are with a developmentally appropriate group. We keep our classes small and group age ranges narrow in order to provide both a challenging, engaging, and age-appropriate curriculum.  Read about our philosophy.
