Your donation will help us bring the artistic and real-life benefits of theatre education to our community through a wide variety of classes, programs, and performances, offered both in-person and online, and will also help to keep our staff and faculty of professional theatre artists employed. In an effort to make more classes financially accessible to students during the pandemic, we are offering more financial aid than ever before. We’ve worked hard to make sure our programs and scholarship funds can safely meet the overwhelming need of the low-income families we serve through our programs, providing more than $125,000 in need-based aid for our summer acting camps and musical theatre institutes in 2021 and serving more than 580 vulnerable youth and adults through our award-winning free Life Stories drama programs.
You can personalize your gift and encourage others to give to The Theatre Lab when you can choose to sponsor a program or event. If you’d like to create a lasting legacy through planned giving, we can discuss how you can name The Theatre Lab in your estate plan, create an endowment in your name, or make a stock gift. Please contact Terah Herman-Saldaña, our Development/Outreach Manager, at 202-824-0449 or development@theatrelab.org today to learn more about these opportunities.
You can also donate to The Theatre Lab through the Catalogue for Philanthropy.

The Theatre Lab offers financial aid to ensure that the benefits of high-quality theatre education are accessible to all. Many DC area families are facing financial hardships and need help providing their children with an inspiring and educational summer. To ensure we can continue to support our community and give generous scholarships, every dollar you donate to Send a Kid to Camp goes directly to a child. Adults who cannot afford tuition for our classes can apply for need-based assistance, as well as work-study.

Under the careful guidance of Theatre Lab instructors, people young and old transform their personal narratives into film or theatre. The benefits of this process are often life-changing: increased self-esteem and awareness of creative potential, reduced sense of isolation as a result of being part of an artistic ensemble, improved verbal communication skills, and the emotional satisfaction gained from sorting through past experiences.
