2023 Fall Staged Reading Series: Plays that Became Musicals

Join us on Tuesdays in October for free staged-reading performances by students in our Acting in a Professional Production class, featuring professional directors and actors working with a core company of students. This session explores plays that were later turned into musicals.

The Plays:

  • Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw (which became My Fair Lady)
  • Green Grow the Lilacs by Lynn Riggs (which became Oklahoma!)
  • Chicago by Maurine Dallas Watkins
  • Merrily We Roll Along by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart
