Each song -- and it can be any kind of song -- is a self-contained story sung from the singer’s perspective.
This hands-on course explores all the many elements of cabaret performance. The grand finale is a showcase featuring individual mini-sets developed over the course of the class. Topics include choosing material that’s right for you, ways to explore and practice a song, how to write patter, and how to structure a song set and a cabaret show.
Prerequisite: Previous experience as a solo vocalist. Come to the first class with three prepared songs with piano music.
There will be a performance on 2/22 evening. No class 1/18.
