The Theatre Lab premiered eight extraordinary short plays by many of the area’s best playwrights as part of the 11th Annual Dramathon, raising $15,650 in support of our Send a Kid to Theatre Camp. Students actors and Theatre Lab friends raised money in order to be able to share the stage with renowned DC actors, including Nancy Robinette, pictured, in a hilarious play about pandemic insomnia by Elizabeth Pringle (The Somnambulist). Heartfelt thanks to all of our guest actors, directors and playwrights, and the company of 25 fundraising actors, who made it possible to send 18 kids top camp this summer!
The Theatre Lab is also pleased to announce a grant of $15,000 from the Hattie M. Strong Foundation to support our youth scholarship and Life Stories programs. The Foundation has been a partner for nearly a decade; we are so grateful for the renewed support and all it makes possible.
