About this Production
Queer Stories is an intergenerational class offered once a year as part of The Theatre Lab’s Life Stories® program, which teaches people from vulnerable populations to create original dramatic works using their own life experiences.
Since 2000, Life Stories® has helped to elevate the stories of over 4,000 individuals, including DCPS students, Latinx teens, incarcerated and at-risk youth, returning veterans, families affected by homelessness, mothers who have lost sons to gun violence, and members of the LGBTQIA community.
Honored for its profound community impact, Life Stories has received the Mayor’s Arts Award for Innovation in the Arts, and Theatre Lab Co-Executive Director Deb Gottesman was named a 2023 Washingtonian of the Year for her role in creating the program.
