Man of La Mancha is a Golden Age musical that is alternately raucous and tragic, and wholly unique. It tells the story of the elderly Alonso Quijana who, in the face of life's oppressive cruelties, becomes Don Quixote, a deluded but noble knight on a quest to right all the world's wrongs. Along the way, he calls into question the line between lunacy and sanity in a world gone mad.
Designed as a play-within-a-play set during the Spanish Inquisition, it is based on Miguel Cervantes' novel Don Quixoteand features Cervantes himself as a prisoner who engages his fellow inmates to perform the tale of the Errant Knight depicted in the novel. In this production, the prison framing device is set in modern times. Come experience this timeless and timely musical featuring the iconic songs "Dulcinea" and "The Impossible Dream."
