This class is a Pay-What-You-Can, community-based offering presented by The Theatre Lab’s Life Stories® program.
Get ready to stomp, hop, wiggle, and roar! In Creative Play: Animal Adventures, young performers will use their imaginations to explore the world of animals through theatre, movement, music, and creative play. Each class will take children on a new animal adventure, encouraging them to pretend, explore, and tell stories with their bodies and voices.
Through fun games and imaginative activities, students will build confidence, practice listening and cooperation, and develop early performance skills, all while having a wild time!

* Note: Small class sizes are a fundamental part of our learning philosophy at The Theatre Lab. Classes are kept small to ensure every child receives extensive individual attention from instructors and meaningful socialization with other students. If a class is full, we encourage you to join the waitlist, and we will contact you if a spot becomes available!
To remove barriers to access, tuition for Creative Play is offered on a Pay-What-You-Can basis as a part of The Theatre Lab’s Life Stories® program.

Morgan Kivlan
Morgan brings over five years of experience in early childhood education and youth theater to the classroom, specializing in introductory drama, storytelling, and imaginative play for young actors. With a degree in Theatre from Point Park University and experience in play-based learning, her teaching approach focuses on building confidence, empathy, and social-emotional skills through imaginative play. In her classes, children explore foundational acting skills, emotions, vocal expression, and body awareness through interactive stories, puppet play, and ensemble building games. Morgan creates a warm, nurturing environment where every young actor feels safe to express themselves, make bold choices, and discover the joy of performance.
Maddy Gough
Maddy Gough is a teacher, director, and actor who hails from North Jersey and is based in Washington, DC. Maddy started working at The Theatre Lab almost two years ago as a faculty member in their youth programs and has previously worked as a classical text teacher and director with Traveling Players Ensemble. Maddy is currently earning her Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre at American University where she is a Sylvia and Harold Greenberg scholar, and has also trained in Classical Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She is currently serving as a creative producer, dramaturg, and actor for her senior thesis production of the musical ISLANDER. Maddy is passionate about theatre education and providing an outlet to foster confidence, creativity, and empathy in young people.
