Learn and Perform in QUEER STORIES
We are currently seeking individuals ages 14-80+ who have personal experiences within the LGBTQIA community. This exciting program, called QUEER STORIES, is completely FREE and offers a unique opportunity for participants to share personal narratives shaped by their lived experiences in the DMV area. Participants will join a diverse group to explore the intersection of queer experiences across generations. Our goal is to create an original theatre production that will debut at the Undercroft Theatre at the Theatre Lab in June.
We welcome people of all gender identities and sexualities to participate in this program, as we will weave together each participant’s individual experiences to create a collective and original performance. Theatre Lab Life Stories instructors will guide and work closely with the students throughout the 11-week program to craft a powerful and engaging production that amplifies the unique voices of each individual.
This class is recommended for people interested in exploring artistic self-expression. This is a fun and lively process; open to seasoned performers as well as those who have no previous acting experience. Please note that participants are expected to commit to the entire 11-week program. Classes will be held at the Theatre Lab in downtown DC on Wednesday (6-9 PM) starting Tuesday, April 8.

Madeleine works in many capacities at The Theatre Lab, including in their youth, adult, and Life Stories programs. Though she works on many different audio drama projects, Madeleine most notably is the co-producer of Feminist Fairytales, an audio drama that reimagines the genre of fairy tales through a feminist lens. As an actor, you will soon be able to see her perform in "How the Light Gets In" at 1st Stage (Kat). In addition, she is a Meisner Acting Coach with the Matthew Corozine Studio in New York, and a Master Teacher with ArtStream's Inclusive Theatre Companies. When not making art, you can usually find Madeleine buried in a book or cuddling her little dog Boba.

He brings creativity, passion, and expertise to his role, helping to shape and manage programs that empower individuals to share their personal narratives through the performing arts.
