The acting technique developed by legendary theatre artist Jerzy Grotowski aims for complete integration of the actor’s mental and physical senses to reveal the core substance of a character. This specialized course presents a bold and experimental approach based on Stephen Wangh’s interpretations of Grotowski’s methods in An Acrobat of the Heart.

José Carrasquillo

José Carrasquillo is a theatre director and educator. Recent credits include The Brothers Size at 1st Stage in Reston, Virginia and Rhinoceros at Tantrum Theatre in Athens, Ohio. Favorite local credits include Nat Turner in Jerusalem, The Body of an American, El Paso Blue, After the Fall and Happy Days. He has taught/lectured or directed at The Theatre Lab, Juilliard School of Drama, UMD at College Park, Catholic University, the University of Washington (Seattle), Cornish College for the Arts, Ohio University at Athens, and the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. Jose serves as the Director of Artistic Programming at Ford’s Theatre.
