This seminar is an exploration of acting methods through the lens of Konstantin Stanislavski, some of whose teachings came to form the basis of Method Acting. The class will read “Year One” of An Actor’s Work (the famous section published as An Actor Prepares in an earlier translation) in a discussion format. We’ll work toward an understanding of some of the major acting techniques by examining how they operate either in harmony with or in opposition to Stanislavski’s ideas. Required for Honors students; open to all.
The last two classes will end at 10 PM.
