Come out and support select graduates from the Arts Institute for Creative Advancement's Class of 2024 in a staged reading event featuring their words alive. All plays will be performed by The Theatre Lab Honors Acting Conservatory alumni and all participating graduate playwrights were a part of a playwriting elective class during the program in collaboration with Young Playwrights' Theatre.

Please join us for a brief reception immediately following. 

"Grim Adventures" by Taqi Daniels
Directed by Taylor Stewart
is a story that follows the protagonist Grimm (AKA Grimmy or Grimmer), as his life develops and concludes before the audiences' eyes. 

"The Outstanding Balance of Mercedes Jones" by Troy Johnson
Directed by Demetrius Sadler 
The Outstanding Balance of Mercedes Jones, originally a short film, now adapted into a stage play centers on the life of a supernatural being, Mercedes as she races to save her life.

"The Typewriter" by Taariq Saadiq
Directed by Noah Wesley
"Howard and Lorraine are a couple of almost 7 years. They have routine date nights, compare they're schedules every day, and know each other to a T. But on one date night, they will have to take a hard look on the relationship they thought they knew when a typewriter finds its way into their home."
