Overview

Get ready to unleash your imagination in our Improv for Kids class! Designed for kids in grades 3-5, this high-energy, super fun class is all about thinking on your feet, creating characters, and working together with friends to build amazing stories—right on the spot! Through theater games and acting activities, kids will learn the basics of improvisation: teamwork, quick thinking, and embracing creativity. No scripts—just lots of laughter and endless possibilities. Whether you’re a natural performer or just want to try something new, this class is perfect for building confidence, improving communication, and thinking outside the box. Come join us for an unforgettable time filled with creativity, laughs, and nonstop fun!

Location: The VIVA School Satellite Campus (1923 Vermont Ave NW, Suite T002)

* Note: Small class sizes are a fundamental part of our learning philosophy at The Theatre Lab. Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure every child receives extensive individual attention from instructors and meaningful socialization with other students. If a class is full, we encourage you to join the waitlist, and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.

Tuition Discount

Theatre Lab members receive a 10% discount off of school year class tuition, automatically applied at checkout. Annual memberships cost only $70 per year and also include discounted tickets to all Theatre Lab performances. Membership discounts do not apply to summer or spring break camps tuition. Bryanda Minix

Bryanda Minix is a multidisciplinary theatre artist and educator, professional conversation starter and connector, cultivator of hope, and fierce advocate towards removing barriers to opportunity. Originally from Houston, TX, she taught both academic and arts instruction. She relocated to DC in 2015, and works locally as an actor, writer, director, teaching artist, photographer, and improvisor.

Training

She is a graduate of The Honors Acting Conservatory at The Theatre Lab.
