For newcomers to theatre dance or anyone who needs a refresher, whether for personal enrichment or to prepare for a specific audition (say, for our upcoming Creating a Musical Role class, hint, hint). It’s skill-building and a healthy physical workout rolled into one, taught by The Theatre Lab’s patient and down-to-earth go-to choreographer. You’ll come away with:
- Practical experience with real musical theatre dance combinations
- Greater comfort with stage movement of all kinds
- An understanding of foundational jazz moves and terminology
- Techniques for learning any musical theatre choreography
- Tips for memorizing
- Special skills in the style of Bob Fosse
This class is held at The VIVA School of Dance (1923 Vermont Ave NW Suite T002, Washington, DC 20001).

Sarah Frances has performed with Riverside Center for the Performing Arts (Saturday Night Fever, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Beauty and the Beast), Monumental Theatre Co (Urinetown), Adventure Theatre MTC (Pinkalicious and Knuffle Bunny), and Outstanding Voices of DC Cabarets.
