Creating a Role: Arcadia
Date
May 18 - May 21Time
7:30 pm - 9:30 pmThe Theatre Lab’s Creating a Role class of 2023 presents Arcadia! Considered one of Tom Stoppard’s masterpieces and a landmark play of the late 20th century, Arcadia alternates between two time periods, the early 19th century and the present day, at an aristocratic estate in Derbyshire, England. The estate was once home to a brilliant young mathematician named Thomasina Coverly, who is tutored by her enigmatic tutor, Septimus Hodge. Meanwhile, in the present day, a group of scholars are trying to piece together the history of the estate and the lives of its inhabitants.
As the play progresses, the characters’ lives and stories from both time periods become intertwined, leading to a fascinating plot that explores the influences of social change. We hope that you can be a part of this unique journey with our diverse ensemble of students, some of whom are heading to the stage for their first-ever performance!
Admission is $15, $10 for students (students must show ID). Donations welcome.
