Why Donate?

For nearly 30 years, The Theatre Lab has used the tools of theatre to teach people to connect. And in this time of social isolation, finding meaningful connection is more important than ever. Creative Resilience is what we teach our students and Life Stories participants.  These days it has become our guiding principle as we adapt all of our programs to the virtual world and strive to maintain the connections that are so integral to the theatre arts.

Throughout the COVID crisis, we have continued to bring the artistic and real-life benefits of high-quality dramatic arts education to thousands of people through our award-winning Life Stories programs, more than 120 interactive and innovative online courses, and a full summer of Zoom acting camp that brought real fun and real learning into the homes of hundreds of children and teens. To ensure that no one will be left behind, we’ve provided free tablets and hot spots for students who need them. And our community has noticed.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving our kids such a great experience in this challenging time,” wrote one parent. “It meant more to us than we can express.”

But we know we face a long road ahead. Like all performing arts institutions, we have experienced a major decline in revenue streams. For this reason, please become a sponsor of our 2020 Creative Resilience Campaign and help us continue to keep our dedicated faculty of theatre artists employed, so they can empower students from all walks of life and foster creativity and resilience in all of us at a time when we need them the most.
