Shakespeare Scene Study
Intensive work on iconic characters and scenes from the world’s greatest plays. Attention to all aspects of playing Shakespeare, including which aspects of contemporary acting technique can be transferred and which can't, as well as issues unique to the work of the Bard. Students will explore Shakespeare's text with specific rehearsal techniques between classes each week, with a focus on exploiting Shakespeare's many clues to internal and external action. For students with some scene study experience, but a love of Shakespeare or a strong desire to learn would be a fine substitute for any particular experience in Shakespearean acting.
