Comedy! (Grades 6-8)
Love to laugh, and make others do it, too? This is the class for you. Learn how to perform comedy improv and explore the secrets of physical comedy. Through exercises in spontaneity, “accepting offers,” and the principles of comedic acting, along with a host of hilarious theatre games, students will learn techniques for collaboratively creating comedy without a script (a la Second City and Whose Line Is It Anyway?). Taught by a master of comedy improv, this class teaches the principles of comedic timing and, yes, how to do the perfect pratfall!
Online Class: Our fall youth semester will take place entirely online via Zoom. Classes require live participation at the scheduled times using your own device. Zoom is most effective when used on a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet. Students using a cellphone to access class are likely to experience reduced functionality that may limit their ability to participate fully in class. Please review the technical requirements necessary to take part in an online class before enrolling. If these requirements pose any difficulties for you, please let us know.
